18-04-2012 - Easter in Hanukkah
Easter was a very cheerful celebration in Hanukkah. The volunteers received a surprise Easter breakfast, organized by Mariette. This was followed by a wonderful church service by Moses, to which all the kids listened attentively, dressed up in their best clothes that had appeared out of nowhere for this special occasion.
Baptism Jeremiah
Jeremiah, the baby boy of David (Moses’ brother) and his wife Lydia, got baptized at the church service. The family looked gorgeous and it was a great addition to the happiness of this day.

Easter egg painting and finding
While the kids were busy celebrating, dancing and singing, the volunteers hid the eggs that the children had painted the day before. Not all of the kids grasped the idea of the egg painting entirely: Especially the smaller kids preferred to eat them right away, rather than return them. However, as soon as they heard the time had come to start searching for them, they didn’t waste a moment and started their hunt right away.
